Visa information

To obtain a visa for travel to Saudi Arabia, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Apply for your visa to Saudi Arabia in person at your nearest consulate of Saudi Arabia or  an approved agency such as CIBT.
- Allow at least two weeks processing time.
- When applying for a single entry visa, it is recommended that your valid passport has at least two un-used pages remaining, for any necessary entry and exit stamps that may be issued.
- For a multiple entry visa, allow at least four un-used pages.
- Passport has to be valid for 6 months after submitting visa application.
- Individual applicants have to cover the costs of obtaining a visa through their local Saudi embassy. Please note, application  procedures and fees may vary by location.

Currency and Banking

The Saudi currency is the Saudi Riyal (SAR). You can change money in most banks. Online Currency Converter

Cash machines in Saudi
All private banks in Saudi have ATMs, and travelers have had success withdrawing money from their accounts from these ATMs. 

Banks
Banks are open from Saturday to Wednesday 8.30 am to 12.00 pm, and 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm, Thursdays 8.30 am to 12.00 am.
Money changers have longer opening hours.

Credit Cards
All major credit cards are accepted widely, but not everywhere. Some shops and restaurants do not accept credit cards. If in doubt, ask in advance.

- Thursday and Friday is the weekend in Saudi Arabia.
